A Balancing Act & Some Snippin' and Gluin'

Reagan using her homemade balance beam courtesy of dad. She was able to make it all the way to the end! Way to go Reagie!
As everyone should know by now, Reagan loves artsy stuff. For her b'day, I bought her a cut and paste book for 2-3 yr. olds, in hopes that the pile of cut-up construction paper would minimize :) It has!
The point of the book, is for the parents to cut-out the materials and the child can paste them on the pictures. It's leveled, so it starts at stickers then gets a little harder. I let her do the cutting tonight. It was just straight lines, then I cut out any curvy parts. She was rockin'!!! She was able to cut better than most of my preschoolers.

Work in progress...gluing on the pieces. She even used just a dab of glue! She's my dream student!!

The finished product!

(She had to glue the toys in the cubbies)

Since I didn't get a picture of her cutting the other picture, here's an action shot of her dynamic scissor skills. And, she's a lefty at that!

Did I mention that Bill and I had a date night last weekend? My parents both had the weekend off and requested a sleepover with Reagan. Since we were childless, we decided to go the dinner and a movie route. We went to see the The Dark Knight which lives up to its name. It's so dark! It was an AWESOME movie, but as soon as we left, I told Billy I needed a good, wholesome, uplifting movie now just to counteract the after effects of Batman. It was probably, hands down, the best Batman movie yet. It was a little sad for me, though, with Heath Ledger, whom I adore. (He is, after all, the star in my favorite cheesy movie Ten Things I Hate About You).

You may want to scroll to the bottom of the blog for a moment. Go ahead.... Did you notice the new ticker? Reagan designed it, hence the hearts and elephant. Not really what I would have chosen, but.... Reagan is going to be a big sister after Christmas. January 8th, officially. Most of you already know, but I'm shocked at the number of people who don't. I'm 18+ weeks, but feel much more pregnant than that. Things are so far going smoothly. The first three months were horrendous, thanks to 24 hr. nausea. It's not so bad now. I decided then that it must be a boy, as only a male could cause that much misery ;) Actually, we don't know what we're having yet. We find out in 1 1/2 weeks. Yikes! So, the three of us are super excited!
