I Forgot to M ention

While we were at the dr's., The nurse had Quinn on the examining table where she had been measuring him. We started talking, and the next thing we knew, he rolled over!! From back to belly!! We were both shocked! I joked throughout my entire pregnancy that he was going to be a slug b/c he rarely moved. Apparently, he was just saving it up. He rolls frequently and cannot be trusted.

A Visit to the Doctor's

Quinn's appt. was yesterday...he gained 8 oz!!!! in 3 days!!!! The dr. was very happy w/ his weight gain and was pleasantly shocked. The secret?? I started him on formula. Every mother has to make the decision bottle or breast? I made the decision for both the kids to breast feed. As circumstances would have it, it just hasn't worked out for Quinn. He lost almost a pound since birth in less than 2 weeks. He seems much more satisfied w/ the bottle. We go back next week to make sure he at least gets back to his birth weight. Tons of other kids out there are fed formula from birth and are just fine. I'm sure Quinn will be too. The way I look at it...he's much healthier now gaining weight and not starving.

And what's w/ the snow?! We are getting bombarded w/ snow. The down side...Reagan has major cabin fever and is driving me insane. The plus side...I do not have to use personal time for my maternity leave on snow days. That means I'm saving lots of days and could probably extend my leave. Woo-hoo!!

Reagan woke up this morning feeling the need to get a shower and put on a dress. Of course, with all this yucky weather we're getting...we're going NO WHERE! All dressed up and no where to go.

This is Reagan's "pet" horse she has named Pudge. She uses the dogs leash to drag the horse around and tie him up. Last night she was grooming him. The funny thing is that my brother and SIL bought her that horse over 2 yrs ago and she was terrified of it. Now it's her best friend.

She loves working in her garage too.
As for Quinn... I'm still adjusting to life w/o sleep. We went this week for a weight check and he's lost more weight. He's now down to 6 lb. 5 oz. We started formula yesterday to see if he gains any that way. It wasn't in my plans, but I'd much rather him be healthy. We go tomorrow for another wt.check. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Things are slowly coming in to place. Reagan is a GREAT big sister and loves to help. Although, she informed me yesterday that he wasn't my baby, but her's. She also informed me I was patting his back too hard when I was burping him. My little mother hen.

I have no pictures of her to post as she made faces or hid from the camera. Hopefully, soon she'll cooperate.
Quinn tried out the swing. He was okay with it, but wasn't all that interested in staying in it for longer than 2 minutes.

Game Day! Daddy and Quinn cuddled on the couch to cheer for the Steeler's.

One of the first things we noticed about Quinn the moment he was born...was his toes!! Yes, he had all 10 after a quick count, but they were the longest things we had ever seen! He has monkey toes. Take a look...

He can grip your finger with his toes! He's got a second set of hands, which could prove to be useful for him, I guess.

Check out that big toe.

Moments after being born, Quinn posed for his first picture.

More birthday fun

This is how Reagan greeted Bill and I the other morning.... All decked out and ready to roll, wedding bouquet and all!
My brother made a short trip in this past weekend.

Me (w/ my whale of a belly), Dad, and Jim
We celebrated my dad's b'day a few days a early since Jim was in town. And where there's an Ennis celebration, there's Dairy Queen cake!!!! YUM!!!

Reagan helped Pap blow out his candles (and not because he's not windy enough) :)

In other news...still no baby!! He's already a Dorsey and classicly late! My maternity leave started last week b/c I really thought we'd have a baby. With Bill working afternoons, that leaves just Reagan and I. How to fill the time? Well, lots of crafts, playing games, pretend play, and baking. Yesterday, we tried a new peanut butter cookie recipe that only called for three ingredients. Not bad. We then tried out a chocolate icing to put on the cookie. We decided we didn't care much for it. I think I'm spoiled with the choc. icing the Cookie place at the mall uses. Nothing could replace that! If only I could crack that recipe! I'd be a happy girl.
Hope to have some baby news soon!!!

Easy Bake Oven Adventure

Okay, so the pictures are out of order AGAIN!!! This is seriously driving me crazy!

Marching to the beat of her own drum
Since I'm at home, not working, and it was snowing, Reagan and I broke out the Easy Bake Oven today that Santa brought her. She kept saying "I"m having so much fun". Although, I have to tell you, I do not recommend sugar cookies as your first experience. The cake would have been much easier! The cookies are a little difficult to work with, then only bakes one at a time. So, 7 minutes to bake per cookie, then 10 minutes in the cooling chamber equals too long for a three-year-old! I ended up finishing by myself. So how about a backwards look at Reagan making her cookies?

TA-DA! Reagan's finished product that required immediate sampling.

Using the cookie cutter to cut out the heart shape.

A cookie dough ball before smashing it for the cookie cutter

Mixing up the dough
Easy Bake Oven lesson.... stick with the cakes. I think making an actual batch of real sugar cookies would have been much easier!
Okay, off to enjoy my DQ cake and keep my legs crossed. My OB is out of town til Monday. Aaahh!!! I'm very nervous about going in to labor since he's not here!

Happy Birthday Bill!

Yesterday was Bill's birthday. He turned the big 3-5. Shh, don't tell him know I told. He's getting a little sensitive about his age.

Nothing to do with his birthday, but she looked so cute. She's very in to wearing hats all the time around the house.

Dinner at our favorite restuarant....Ichiban's. Yum-o, we LOVE Japanese.

DQ cake to finish the evening. Even more YUM!!
